Hi, I'm Lisa.

Before photography became such a big part of my life, I spent nearly two decades working in dentistry. Eventually, I stepped away to spend more time at home raising my four kids, and somewhere in the middle of that busy, beautiful season of motherhood, I picked up a camera.

What started as a creative outlet quickly became something I absolutely loved. In 2022, Lisa Kay Photography was born, and somehow this little idea of mine grew into a career that feels incredibly personal to me.

I’m a wife, a mom of four, and I think getting married and becoming a mother changed the way I see time—and probably the way I photograph it, too. I know firsthand how quickly the seasons that feel so ordinary while you're living them become the ones you wish you could step back into for just a minute. 

My work is light-filled, film inspired and timeless, with a softness inspired by the place I call home here on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

I know how quickly life moves. I see it in my own family every day. The little hands get bigger, the missing teeth grow back, the babies somehow become big kids, us adults grow older and the seasons we thought would last forever quietly change.

We can’t keep any of it exactly as it is.

But we can photograph it.

And maybe that’s the next best thing.
